Summer camps keep kids active.

Are you looking for a summer camp that your child can attend? From sports to cooking, here is a list of local organizations offering day camps this summer. And even though school isn’t out until June 14 for elementary ages and June 15 for middle and high schoolers, now’s the time to sign up and figure out what your kids will do this summer, when rain and homework are no more.

Art camps

Overnight camps

Operation Purple Camp: A camp for youth in military families, with morning environmental education field studies on the lake, at the river or in the forest, then afternoon recreation including swimming, field games, hikes, arts and crafts, a snack shack and more, plus Oregon’s National Guard will be involved in a military theme day where campers can learn more about what their parents do when they’re away overseas; each evening there will be a full campfire program and two late night activities: a night hike and an outdoor movie under the stars (youth camp) or an all-camp dance (teen camp), June 20-25 (youth camp) and June 26-July 1 (teen week), 33806 North Fork Road SE, Lyons. Musical Theater Summer Camp: Designed for kids ages 11-13. These camps offer a multi-venue experience with a variety of themed activities specific to each camp’s theme. Each day campers spend the morning participating in camp specific tasks then spend an afternoon enjoying the different opportunities the Kroc Center has to offer.
