Letter: Overturning Obamacare will have consequences

What if the GOP is successful in overturning Obamacare?

Of course millions of the poor will lose their insurance coverage right away. So will all those young folks under the age of 25 who were allowed under Obamacare.

If you have an illness or disease, you can expect rapid increases in the cost of your policies. You can also expect caps on your coverage, plus you may lose your insurance completely when you file a claim.

Cost for insurance policies will rise for everyone because insurance companies will no longer be required to spend 80 percent of your premium on your health coverage.

Those with pre-existing conditions will be getting their health care in the emergency rooms from now on because they won't be able to purchase insurance. That means every taxpayer will see an increase in his or her tax rates.

Crime will rise because the black market for drugs will increase. More crime means lower property values.

Less health care means more people will die poor, so again the taxpayer will be hit with the cost of caring for the dead.

The GOP will dance in the street because they defeated Obamacare while millions suffer and the American economy crumbles under the weight of a failed system.
