OSU Extension to offer cheese-making workshop May 4

Have you ever wanted to make your own cheese using goat and cow's milk? Here's your chance to learn how.

The Oregon State University Extension Master Food Preservers are offering a hands-on cheese-making workshop 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4 at the OSU Extension Service's Lane County office at 995 Jefferson St. in Eugene.

Cost is $60, which includes a lunch featuring different kinds of cheese dishes.

Cheese maker Susan Jackson will be the instructor for the class. Jackson has experience making a variety of soft cheese. Students will have an opportunity to make soft cheeses in the class including queso fresco. In addition to making cheeses, students will be able to sample other cheeses.
