OSEGUERA-GONZALEZ, BONIFACIO / CHARGES: MURDER AGGRAVATED (3), MURDER AGGRAVATED ATTEMPT

The man suspected of killing three people and injuring another at a rural home east of Woodburn was captured Monday afternoon following an hours-long search in Marion County and the surrounding areas, officials said.

Bonifacio Oseguera-Gonzalez, 29, of Woodburn, was arrested on three counts of aggravated murder and one count of attempted murder following the shooting and ensuing chase.

Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to the home, located on a wide stretch of land in the 13000 block of Killiam Loop NE that includes a house, blueberry farm and legal pot grow, after receiving reports of a shooting with multiple victims.

Crews found two men dead and a woman and man injured from gunshot wounds at the residence. The injured victims were flown to Oregon Heath and Sciences University and Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, where the woman, Katie Lynn Gildersleeve, later died. The man, Alfredo De La Cruz, remained in critical condition. Court documents identified the two deceased men as Edmundo Amaro Bajanero and Rueben Rigoberto Reyes.

Sheriff's office spokesman Lt. Chris Baldridge said Osequera-Gonzalez fled the scene and was at large at least two hours. Officials from the sheriff's office, Oregon State Police, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and Woodburn Police combed the rural roads and highways surrounding the crime scene. A description of the Oseguera-Gonzalez and his vehicle was sent to all local police agencies.

A shooting outside a rural home outside Woodburn left three dead and one injured Monday morning.

At around 1:30 p.m., he was stopped while driving on Interstate 84 east of Portland by OSP troopers and taken into custody without incident.

Neighbors said the area, a collection of stables, farmland and homes just outside Woodburn near the Pudding River, was usually peaceful and calm.

"It's usually quiet," Jaime Valverde said. "It's country out here."

Valverde didn't know the family that rented the home from the farm owner but said they hadn't lived in the neighborhood for long.

Information about the identities of the victims and their relationship to the suspect was unavailable.

According to court records, Oseguera-Gonzalez resided on the 13000 block of Killiam Loop NE since at least 2007. He was taken to Marion County jail and scheduled to be arraigned at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the Marion County Circuit Court Annex.
