Learn more about GMO crops at Salem Environmental Education

Learn all about GMO crops at the Salem Environmental Education monthly talk “GMO Crops: The Science, Impacts and Controversy, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in Loucks Auditorium at the Salem Public Library, 585 Liberty St. SE.

The program, featuring Oregon State University Distinguished Professor Steve Strauss, will cover the science of GMO, what is known from scientific investigation, why GMOs are controversial and the positive and negative impacts, said Gail Gredler.

“He uses biotech in his own lab very so he’s familiar with the process,” Gail said of the presenter.

“It’s a unique perspective,” Jon Yodersaid. “It’s not often you get a chance to hear about the science.”

Cost is $5. Students are free.
